How to Be a Successful Affiliate

Anyone who knows what it’s like to make money blogging will tell you one thing: affiliate networks are a necessity if you want to earn anything from your site. It’s also a good jump-off point for bloggers who are just starting out and aren’t yet being approached by advertisers.

Before everything else, however, what exactly is an affiliate program?  And what does it take to be an affiliate?  Basically, an affiliate program promises to reward a blogger for directing his visitors to the affiliate partner's site.  Sometimes, a program will pay a commission only if the blogger's visitor buys something from the affiliate or signs up for a specific service.

Given all these, however, affiliate marketing isn’t tantamount to instant money. Always, the challenge is to encourage people to click through to your affiliate’s website or offer page. And yet there are marketing strategies that you can implement to ensure that you’re doing justice to your affiliate program and coming up with as much profit as you can. 1. Stick to the simpler things:

The less invasive an advertisement link or banner ad is, the less likely that people will ignore it.  In fact, there's mounting evidence that flashier and louder ads are ineffective in "convincing" people to click on them.  And in some cases, a blog's advertisements end up loading too slowly, bogging down the site itself and forcing the blog visitor to wait until all the page elements load successfully.  If your affiliate program asks you to advertise, opt to do so with link ads.

2. Make sure that your blog theme and affiliate program are compatible:

If your site focuses on fitness and weight loss, it’s not a good idea to put up ads for Krispy Kreme donuts or plus-size clothing. Instead, choose ads that are concurrent to your present theme or chosen niche. By dangling relevant offers to your site’s visitors, you give off the message that you care enough about your readers to offer them products that might be useful to them, given their interests.

3. Play the field:

Make the probability game work in your favour: sign up for multiple affiliate programs, and tweak them all so they work in harmony with each other. For example: you can use Google Adsense alongside other affiliate programs. Be sure to implement this in moderation, however. Most readers are turned off by excessive advertising, so don’t be too blatant about your intent to earn money. Instead, position your ads tastefully, in such a way that your readers don’t feel like their experience of your blog is akin to staring at a huge billboard.

4.  Create a commissioned review:

Services like ReviewMe.com will pay you for every review you make and put up on your site.  Don't review just about anything that will pay you well, however.  Choose products that are relevant to the overall thrust of your blog and are of great interest to your readers.  It's also essential to try to be as objective as you can to be fair to those who read your work and trust it.

Once you have these basics down pat, it's easy to see why professional bloggers need affiliate marketing as part of their endeavor to make money blogging.  It's not as difficult or complicated as some newbies might think; the trick is to keep your advertising to your readers' best interests without cutting down your opportunity to make a profit.  With these basic rules, you can go on to become a successful affiliate with a loyal following and a solid, high-paying blog.

Is it something easy to fix when my GE top load Washer is Agitating fine but not Spinning?

I have a GE top loader Washer. Its only 2 years old. It will not spin. It agitates just fine but when it gets to the spin it won't go. The motor sounds like its spinning but the tub is not moving. Please tell me this is something easy to fix?

I bet it's the belt.

Pull your washer out and see if it's visible ... if so, it should be obvious if the belt is broken or has slipped.

If the belt is in an accessible area, the fix is as easy as replacing or repositioning ... if not ... sorry, time to call the repairman.
