Canon ImageClass D680 - Feel Good About What You Print
The Canon ImageClass D680 printer uses D680 Toner and is a copier, printer and fax functions. Canon has been the top in its class for personal copiers for years. This printer/copier was intended for business use and uses Canon's advanced printing technology to produce high quality printing. The laser printer has a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. It uses a single cartridge system in which the toner, development unit and drum are in one cartridge making replacement a breeze.
The printing and copying speed I quite fast producing 13 copies per minute when printing on A4 paper and 1- copies per minute printing on legal paper. There is a multi purpose tray that can hold up to 100 sheets of paper and the standard input tray can hold up to 500 pages. The copier has an automated document feeder useful for copying documents that are several pages long.
There are three different connection options including a USB interface, parallel port and an upgradeable Axis 1610 network adapter. The Canon ImageClass D680 printer only works with Window operating systems of Windows 95 or later and Windows NT 4.0. The printer drive is included with the printer. The machine has an on site warranty for one year and a three year limited warranty. It is important that you are aware of the specific terms and restrictions that are with the warranty.
The copier has an excellent range for enlarging and reducing documents thanks to the Canon ImageClass D680 Toner Cartridges. The zoom can be adjusted in 1% increments up to a maximum of 200%. The copier also comes with some preset enlargement and reduction ratios with the smallest reduction being 80% and the largest being 200%. It is also possible to input in your own custom percentage.
The Canon ImageClass D680 printer warms up very quickly with a 13 second warm up at the beginning of the day and a 1 second warm up throughout the day. The copier as 6Mb of memory and the printer has 2 MB of memory. The printer has a photo mode and toner saving mode and also has a memory collate function. It is an Energy Star compliant machine.
The fax machine is quite quick with a storage capacity of 255 pages. It can also print a page in less than 3 seconds making it very quick. There are a few different receivers available including manual, DRDP, fax/telephone switch, answering machine or fax only.
The ultra fine resolution mode will print faxes at a high resolution of 406 x 392 dpi. Other additional functions include activity reports, polling receptions, sub address sending, delayed transmission and memory back up to name but a few.

I want to make some kind of a robot, and i want to use the parts in my old printer. Is there some software witch can help me to do simple on and off functions, via parallel port.
