Samsung ML 1750 - The Master Home Business Printer
Samsung ML 1750 Toner combo is a small sized (21 lbs) but big output digital monochrome cassette-type laser printer. It is fast, printing at 16 pages per minute (17 ppm for letter size). The processor is a 166MHz GDI PCL 6 that acts as a powerful driver of print and graphics. Large printing jobs are no problem for the ML-1750, with eight megabytes of memory. The best toner for this printer is the ML 1750 printer toner cartridge.
The Samsung ML 1750 Printer prints at the highest dots per inch (dpi) level available to the small office - home office (SOHO) market segment. The print quality is 1200 X 600 dots per inch (dpi), producing crisp, razor-edge pictures and graphics. Included convenience features are: support for various Linux open source operating system implementations and Mac's 8.6 operating systems.
As well, the Samsung ML 1750 printer supports Windows operating systems Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Also, connectivity is provided for USB 2.0 and IEEE 1284.
The Samsung ML 1750 laser printer has been designed to fulfill the needs and meet the demands of the SOHO market segment. The speed, power, style and features help the home office and small office produce higher quality print documents at a faster clip for less money. The Samsung ML-1750 laser printer enhances the small business or home office by working in near silence. It is so quiet that even the smallest home office can function 24-7 without waking the household with 2 a.m. print jobs.
The 1200 X 600 dpi printing makes all your documents indistinguishable from documents printed by the Fortune 100. At Samsung, making you look good by making your documents look good is the whole point of a laser printer. The Samsung ML 1750 laser printer's 250 sheet capacity reduces paper tray loading time. Increasing your efficiency but reducing your reloading time. In addition to supporting 8 ½ X 11 and 8 ½ X 13 standard letter and legal paper sizes, the ML 1750 quickly and simply configures to print envelope, card and label sizes.
The Samsung ML-1750 has paper-save and toner saving functions that allows the small business to lower operating costs without having to put out less than the best letters, contracts, flyers, promo and graphics. No compromising on print quality, ever again.
The option 'Toner Save' allows you to produce internal documents using less toner while the simple push of a button gets you the blackest blacks for external print jobs without so much as a smudge. The paper save option consists of a ruduce feature that will allow you to print even miltiples from 2 to 16 copies on one page.
ML 1750 cartridge is specially formulated for cassette-type printers. Cassette-type printers use a fabric ink ribbon. A multifilament is used for the warp. The ink is forced into the ribbon at high pressure, disturbing the multifilament warp in the manner of the requested letter or symbol. Cassette ink ribbons are used in a number of different printers types because the technology is so reliable. It reduces spotting while printing quality graphics. The end user always comes first when the product is a ML 1750 toner. It's the best toner.
Formatting single HD for 2 different operating systems (Windows & Mac OSX)?
* COMPUTER: MacBook Tiger
* OP SYSTEMS RUN ON THIS COMPUTER: (i) Mac OS X 10.4.11 & (ii) Windows XP thru Parallels
* EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE: Seagate FreeAgent, 500GB, USB2.0 (stated compatibility Windows XP & Mac
*MY NEED: full external hard drive functionality on both Windows & Mac. One preferred feature is ability to time backups and do encryptions. If possible, to store / run programs on external drive.
*PROBLEM: friend tried formatting within mac. However, not seeing backup and encryption facility. HELP! If drive in use on Mac OS and I open Parallels, it automatically falls out of Mac and asks me if I want to format in Windows. HELP!
*OTHER QUESTIONS: what should i do now to achieve my needs and overcome the problems? Is it possible to run programs (ex Photoshop, etc from external drives)?
PLEASE RESPOND IN STEPS. (I'M NOT TECHY)
Hi!
The only format that both windows and mac OS X can use without installing additional software is FAT32. The only major limitation to FAT32 is that you can't have a single file that is over 4gb on the disk. If you're planning on having large files on the external drive you should format it in NTFS and get a program like 'MacFUSE' to read the disk from the mac. Instructions below.
Unless you're sure you need files over 4gb I would go for the FAT32 formatting.
To format the external hard drive in FAT32 from mac OS X:
1. Plug in the external drive,
2. Go to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility
3. Select the external drive from the list on the left (there will be two entries, one below the other - select the top one)
4. Go to the 'erase' tab on the right and select 'MS-DOS (FAT)' from the drop down list next to 'Volume Format'.
5. Click 'Erase' at the bottom and wait.
To format the external drive in NTFS from Windows:
1. plug in the hard drive
2. go to 'my computer' and right click the hard disk icon there (drive F?)
3. select 'erase' or 'format' from the menu... or properties then go to the erase or format tab.
4. select the NTFS file format and click 'erase'
Sorry if the windows instructions aren't right - i'm a mac person!
I'm afraid I don't know about encryption, but free backup programs are available for both windows and mac that will run scheduled backups.

Airport staff go from saving electricity to saving lives (Manchester Airport)
28th June 2011
From changing a light bulb on the runway to fixing solar panels onto a HIV
clinic in rural Uganda, this could soon become a reality for staff at
Manchester Airport.
Employees skills are being sought to help transform the lives of children with
life-threatening illnesses and disabilities as the airport's parent company -
the Manchester Airports Group (MAG) - has today announced its three-year
support of Medcare, a UK charity that runs the Wellspring Children's Medical
Centre in rural Uganda.
Staff with practical skills from electricians to architects will have the
chance to provide on-the-ground support in Uganda at Wellspring and apply
their skills in building a HIV/AIDS unit and a centre for disabled children.
MAG has never adopted a Group-wide charity before and a key reason it selected
Medcare is because their support will transform the charity's ability to help
so many children.
Charlie Cornish, MAG's Chief Executive, said: "We do tremendous work in our
local communities and support brilliant local charities. But we've never had
something that colleagues and business partners can get behind together, by
applying a combination of fundraising and first-world skills in the third
world which can really change lives. I ...
