An Evaluation Of Whether The Electric Cigarette Is Really Similar To The Real Thing
The electronic cigarette provides an alternate route to smoking without the thousands of harmful chemicals included in regular cigarettes. Nicotine is the prime reason why smokers get addicted to cigarettes. But nicotine alone do not make the cigarettes; there are thousands of other toxins involved, many of which can cause cancer. Many of these toxins are the primary reason for cancer and other life threatening diseases among smokers. On the other hand electronic cigarette and the clearomizer 510 for example only supplies the smoker with nicotine. Electronic cigarettes look even like real cigarettes so that smokers can get used to it easily. Since you are not really burning any tobacco here, using electronic cigarette does not fall under any smoking ban.
The liquid substance that holds the nicotine is e-liquid. Whereas regular cigarettes deliver tar and carbon monoxide, e-liquids only deliver nicotine. The producers of e-liquids assure that no toxins are used when developing the liquids. A major item used in e-liquid is vegetable glycerin (propylene glycol). This solution is more or less used as food and approved by the FDA. Other than this the e-liquid contains nicotine, water, scent and membrane.
For competition different manufacturers of e-liquid use different ingredients; some of which have been stated by the FDA as harmful. Diethylene glycol was the harmful ingredient used by most. It is highly recommended to check the ingredients of any e-liquid, before inhaling its contents.
Electronic cigarettes have three parts that are disposable: battery, cartridge and atomizer. The power from the battery is used to run the LED light and the atomizer in the back. The cartridge contains the e-liquid that is to be inhaled by the smoker. The liquid nicotine is heated to vapor by the atomizer. To give the same feeling the atomizer creates water vapor that looks exactly the same as water vapors. The glowing LED light in front animates it even further.
Since it is artificial electronic cigarettes can be equipped with artificial scents or tastes. You have choices like chocolate, strawberry, menthol, coffee, vanilla etc. Actual tobacco flavors are available for those who like the traditional taste.
Electronic cigarettes are not just used by smokers but also those who are trying to quit smoking. Its effect is far better than nicotine patches and programs held in the community. Electronic cigarettes act as a nicotine delivery system that removes the need for tobacco among smokers. Many chain smokers have used it to forget their drive for tobacco. It also helps a smoker's social life. Electronic cigarettes do not burn tobacco, so the passive smoking effects are no longer present. Many smokers face awkward situations due to the odor of traditional cigarettes. The bad odors tend to cling to the cloths of the smoker and therefore following himher wherever he/she goes. Electronic cigarettes on the other hand can be equipped with sweet smells.
The cartridges containing e-liquids can either be refilled or replaced. In all retrospect electronic cigarettes do seem far better than real cigarettes in every way.
Portable Jaguar modder gives Ben Heck a run for his compact gaming money (video) (Engadget)
We bet you thought Ben Heck's Atari Jaguar mod would be the first and only
portable hack of the ill-fated "64-bit" game system you'd ever see. Well, you
were wrong. User Evil Nod, over at the _Made by Bacteria_ forums, has whipped
up a rather impressive compact console using the seemingly ubiquitous PS1
screen as a display. At about 1.75-inches thick, it's a bit bulkier than
Heck's build, but it also doesn't have a giant battery or cartridge slot
hanging off the back -- everything is tucked neatly away inside the textured
black shell. Check out the source links for a build log and a few more photos
of the finished product. You'll also find a bonus video of the prototype after
the break.
